Come hang out for a night of comedy benefiting Urban Ed Academy featuring
three of the hottest comedians in the biz...Karlous Miller, Mike E. Winfield
and Jay Rich. The show will be hosted by Nephew Tommy from the Steve Harvey
Morning Show. Music by The World Famous Rick & Russ Show.
Founded in 2010, Urban Ed Academy provides educational services that help
500 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students succeed academically and become
knowledgeable and productive citizens with the support of their parents,
families, schools and communities. Urban Ed Academy is committed to
improving the quality of life in communities of color in San Francisco
by eliminating the achievement gap in education.
No greater crisis exists in communities of color than the plight of black
and brown boys. These boys are diagnosed with ADHD three times more than
girls, and they lose five times the amount of educational hours due to
disciplinary actions. Often times, these boys live in communities without
male role models or a clear path for future success. In fact, there are
whole neighborhoods in which few men are gainfully employed or have high

community involvement in education to eliminate the academic achievement gap.
